Woofies all! Rubie here! Max & I wanted to thank everyone who came out to our Book Release Party & Benefit! We raised just over $3000 in cash, food, toys and supplies that we’re donating to our 4 benefit shelters: Cayuga Dog Rescue, Pet the Pet Program, Seneca County SPCA and the Browncoat Cat Rescue! And we also wanted to thank all our 4-legged friends who came out and supported our fellow cats and dogs who are less fortunate than us! Here’s a photo wrap up of the day, which we thought you’d enjoy in case you couldn’t make it! Early in the day we were busy with set up…

Immortal Jellyfish in soundcheck. They were the first band up of the day. ALL the musicians donated their time for the cause.

Dad and Mimi making a game plan for the day. Mimi set up all the cool crafts for the kids and read our book to them for us.
While we were getting ready, our buddies from Twitter showed up! So excited to meet them face to face…

Our twitter friends Whiskey and Rye with their mom and aunt! Their mom runs The Collar Lab in Rochester where they make these gorgeous handmade collars, donating the proceeds to a different shelter each month. For the party, they donated the proceeds to our four charities!
Even the t-shirt lady’s dogs got into the spirit of the event and came with their mom on the delivery, then stayed to party with us for a little while!
And the rescues began showing up with their ambassadors…

Clark, the ambassador for Cayuga Dog Rescue, was recently adopted but wanted to come back and help them out for the event.

Linus and Pumpkin, from the Browncoat Cat Rescue were HUGE crowd faves! Who’dathunk? They were way cute and sweet tho, got to give them props.
Then the guests started to arrive…
Max and I spent a lot of time greeting and thanking our 4-legged friends…
I of course, couldn’t help sneaking away for a swim now and again…

Yes I snuck out for a swim! It was friggin HOT! A proper hostess has to stay refreshed to be at her best, right?
Here are some more of our friends that came out to support early on…
Their moms and dads put their pix on wine bottles. Pretty cool souvenir of the day.
The donations really started to pour in in the afternoon…
As did more guests…

Dixie, who was a shelter rescue dog who found a great forever home, as were many of our visitors, and came to support their less fortunate friends!
The day ended with a wine & cheese reception and silent auction…

Yum! The cheese tray for the Wine & Cheese Reception and Silent Auction! Thanks, Finger Lakes Cheese Trail, for donating all that great cheese!
But Max and I were so wiped out, we didn’t even make a play for the food! And that NEVER happens!
So while we were napping, poser cat Puffy came in and took over supervising the end of the day.
All and all it was a fantastic day for a fantastic cause! And we were psyched to see the support from our friends and community! Thanks again everyone! We’re going to do it again next year! (Guess that means we’re going to have to write another book!)
Woofies!
Rubie and my hard working brother Max
